Supporting Indie films: DETERMINISM

I know it not part of the Horror specials, but if I don´t do this post now, it will be difficult to do later...want relating subjects?

Horror...social rejection

...being stereotyped

... drug abuse and world

If none of you can imagine yourselves in that kind of situations without feeling a little fear...then I envy you officially!!!

A few days ago I ran into an Indie Filmmaker through Twitter, his name is SANJIT MAJUMDAR, I read his Bio, checked his web site and watched the trailer of his opera prima, along with RANJU MAJUMDAR: DETERMINISM; A film about Alec, a student in a fictional college town in Pennsylvania, who in his deSperation for fitting in, he quits his stereotypical geek look and takes a rampaged, bloodbathed, spiraldowned trip to the drug dealing world, which begins with a robbery ands unleashes an unexpected ending (because I haven't seen the complete movie yet, so of course is unexpected, if the authors have a complete version they can pass, I'll be glad to post about it again).

The strong points I find aboust this low- budget film is the photography, these guys totally did their homework in the angles and lights department, even with the low quality image it is very easy to notice the great job with the photography. The music was desinged to take the viewer into a expressionist atmosphere (expressionism, determinism...this is getting to deep for this blog), that means a very dark place were the univere around you turnd wicked and dark.

The story reminds me to the kind of stories Spike lee and John Singleton deals with, specially in movie like HIGHER LEARNING (1995), 4 BROTHERS (2005),TRAINING DAY (2001) and, in a much 180 degree different tone, BAMBOOZLED (2000).

I thnik it would be presumtuos to say anything else as I haven't seen the whole movie yet, so I'm gonna leave you for now with the trailer and the link of the website.
